When a student at IIT Bombay imagines a solution to a real-world problem, the idea is powerful but often, it stops there. Not because it lacks potential, but because it lacks a starting point.

Through the IITB–Groww INV.ENT Program, that first step is now within reach.

Built as a collaboration between IIT Bombay and the Groww Foundation, the programme enables students to move from ideas to action. Each year, nearly 100 student teams receive early-stage support—helping them test concepts, build prototypes, and take their first step beyond the classroom. Over time, this has the potential to support ~400 teams over four years, creating a strong pipeline of student-led innovation.

At the centre of this journey is the Groww Innovation Space—a dedicated environment where ideas are explored, prototypes are built, and learning comes through doing. Here, students collaborate, experiment, and grow in confidence, transforming isolated efforts into a shared culture of innovation.

For a select group, the journey goes further. Through the Grand Challenge initiative, up to 15 high-potential teams receive deeper support to refine their ideas, test them in real-world settings, and build solutions that can scale. Some of these journeys extend into IIT Bombay’s startup ecosystem, opening pathways to incubation, funding, and long-term growth.

From Learners to Builders

What makes this initiative powerful is not just the numbers, but the shift it creates. Students begin to see themselves not only as learners, but as builders—capable of solving real problems.

This growing ecosystem has the potential to nurture 1000-1200 student led ventures and impact 415+ real world problem areas over time.

Where Innovation Takes Shape

It is the powerful idea of a dedicated environment to spark innovation that defines the programme. By turning ideas into prototypes, and prototypes into possibilities, IIT Bombay is shaping a generation that doesn’t just imagine change but builds it.
